MapleSugarFestival_GCVMMumford, N.Y. - Genesee Country Village & Museum in Mumford, NY, invites visitors to celebrate maple sugaring season in NY State at the annual Maple Sugar Festival, coming up March 18, 19, 25 & 26.

Follow tap lines along the Maple History Trail to the modern-day sugarhouse in the Museum’s Nature Center, see traditional methods of sap collection and sugaring in a 19th-century sugar camp, and explore the Historic Village to see maple-inspired “receipts” cooking in historic kitchens. See the Tinsmith and Cooper at work, watch tree tapping demonstrations, hear from Hodinöhsö:ni’ storytellers, and more. ASL interpretation will be offered for select programming on Sunday, March 19, and Sunday, March 26.

Visitors can fuel up for their sugaring adventure with a Pancake Plate in the Meeting Center (select the “Maple Festival & Pancake Plate” ticket option), taste historic treats around the Village, have a hot meal in the Depot Restaurant, or enjoy a historical craft beverage in the Freight House Pub. New for 2023 is a Maple Mixer in the Carriage Barn (Sundays only), where for an additional fee, visitors can sample maple-themed cocktails, sweets, and savory treats. The Museum’s Flint Hill Store will be stocked with products handcrafted in the Historic Village, local wares, Museum apparel, and of course real NYS maple syrup tapped at Genesee Country Village & Museum.
