cayuga-county-tourism1.jpgCayuga Tourism to hold Workshop in  Recognition of Importance of LGBT Visitors Cayuga County, N.Y. - Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States and in many cities across the nation events are help throughout the month of June to commemorate this turning point in the history of gay rights.  Celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia and concerts, and attract millions of participants around the world. Memorials are held during this month for those members of the community who have been lost to hate crimes or HIV/AIDS. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had locally, nationally, and internationally. In recognition of Pride Month, the Cayuga County Office of Tourism will host an LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) Outreach Service Training on June 5th from 9-11 a.m. at the Stardust Foundation, 2 State Street, downtown Auburn.This two-hour webinar will be conducted by Community Marketing, Inc. a San Francisco-based LGBT owned/operated company with 20+ years of consumer research, strategic consulting, market planning, communications, and training services.  Learn about market data, best practices, trends, and custom marketing to the LGBT communities.
