lake-placid-biathlon.JPGLake Placid, N.Y. - The Biathlon North American (Nor Am) Cup competition will be held, Saturday and Sunday, March 3-4, 2012, at the Mt. van Hoevenberg Olympic Sports Complex in Lake Placid. Biathletes from across the United States and Canada will compete in this exciting winter sport that combines cross country skiing and rifle marksmanship. The schedule includes sprint and pursuit format race events for men and women in senior, junior, youth, master, and grand master classes. Van Hoevenberg biathlon stadium includes shooting range and start/finish line cross country ski courses with public spectator viewing areas. The Nor Am Cup at Lake Placid is the fifth event of the 2011-2012 international series of biathlon races held in the United States and Canada.
