Lake Placid, N.Y. - Biathlon North American (Nor Am) Cup competition will be held, Thursday, Feb. 10, through Saturday, Feb. 13, in Lake Placid, N.Y. at the Mt. Van Hoevenberg Olympic Sports Complex.  Biathletes from across the United States and Canada will compete in this exciting winter sport that combines cross country skiing and rifle marksmanship.

The schedule includes sprint and pursuit format race events for men and women in junior, senior and master classes. Skiing distances vary per event and class.

The site of many National and International events since the 1980 Olympics, the Mt. Van Hoevenberg biathlon stadium includes shooting range and start/finish line cross country ski courses with public spectator viewing areas. 

The Nor Am Cup at Lake Placid is the fifth event of the 2009-10 international series of biathlon races held in the United States and Canada. Nor Am Cup #5, organized by the U.S. Biathlon Association and Biathlon Canada, is hosted by the biathlon clubs of New York (Lake Placid, Polar Bear, Saratoga, Syracuse, Western New York) in cooperation with the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA).
