In the tradition of the two-time Winter Olympic village, Lake Placid will pay tribute to its returning athletes who competed last month in Sochi, Russia Lake Placid, N.Y. - WHO: Many 2014 Winter Olympians, highlighted by bronze medal winner Erin Hamlin (luge), double bronze medalists Steve Holcomb and Steve Langton (bobsled), and silver medalist Andrew Weibrecht (alpine skiing). Other members of Team USA that competed in Sochi will participate. More Olympians will be announced later. WHAT: A parade down Main Street in Lake Placid, starting at the intersection of Cummings Road. It will end at The Cottage Café with speeches from the Sochi medalists. The event will conclude after the comments with a fireworks display provided by Clauss Chiropractic. WHEN: Sunday, March 16, starting at 5:30 PM WHERE: The parade will commence at the intersection of Main Street and Cummings Road in Lake Placid. Media are cordially invited to cover the parade, speeches and fireworks. Also, get reaction from parade spectators along the route and Olympic supporters that will be gathered at the event's conclusion. The Olympic parade is a collaboration of the Villages of Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, Town of North Elba, U.S. Olympic Training Center, Lake Placid Central School, Lake Placid Business Association, ORDA and ROOST.
