President And CEO Beth Hill to Also Announce Significant Projected Economic Impact and Detail Next Phase of Multi-Year Upgrades to Facilities and Visitor Experience

Fort Ticonderoga’s $70 million effort is one of the largest economic development projects in the North Country

Ticonderoga, NY – On June 22, President and CEO Beth Hill, along with New York State and regional leadership, will gather for the grand opening celebration of the 1826 Pavilion restoration and adaptive re-use project.  The completion of the $9 million project is Phase 1 of multi-year capital and facilities upgrades which will vastly expand the visitor experience and generate significantly new economic activity in the region.

Fort Ticonderoga is in the midst of the most aggressive expansion in its history and one of the largest economic development projects in the North Country. Efforts are underway to invest more than $70 million ahead of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of American Independence in 2026.

WHAT:           Grand Opening and Tours of the recently restored Pavilion – an integral part of one of the largest economic development projects in the North Country.  The Pavilion was restored with a combination of public and private funds; nearly $3 million in State assistance and $6 million in private donations.
