Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association SCVASullivan County, NY – Raise the curtains, shine the spotlight, and get ready to unveil another dove on the Sullivan Catskills Dove Trail! The newest dove will make its debut at the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop (SCDW) on Saturday, June 24 at 4 p.m.

The dove will be located at the SCDW’s home at the Rivoli Theatre, 5243 Main St, South Fallsburg, NY 12779.

Painted by local artist Kim Simons, a prolific dove artist, this marks the 66th dove being added this year, with four more on the way. The dove unveiling will be held during the SCDW’s member BBQ, which will include food, karaoke, and performances by the SCDW theater players from their upcoming production of Oliver.

“We’re a community-oriented business so we wanted to be a part of the Dove Trail, and have something beautiful outside our building,” said Dawn Perneszi, President of the SCDW. “It’s going to enforce our connection with our community overall in Sullivan County. It will also give the history of the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop and the building. The Rivoli Theater was the local hub for events, and we would like to try to bring that back.”

The Rivoli Theatre was built in 1923 and was a major local source of entertainment. It is listed with the National Register of Historic Places and National Historic Landmarks. The SCDW was founded in 1950 and purchased the theater in 1998, presenting plays, musicals, events, and more to this day.

“We’re so excited to unveil another dove and watch the Dove Trail grow,” remarked Roberta Byron-Lockwood, Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association President/CEO. “And this is a perfect location—The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop has been a mainstay of the Sullivan Catskills performing arts community for many years.”
