SyracuseMOST logo, NY (July 28, 2020) - The Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) will be reopening to the public for weekends only on August 1, 2020.

The MOST will be open every weekday for summer day-camps running until Friday, August 21 with pre-registration. More information here: https://www.most.org/learn/camps/.

The MOST visitor experience will be the same fun and engaging STEM education, but with changes to the interactivity of exhibits and programs. For health and safety purposes, we will be temporarily closing the IMAX and planetarium, the Science Playhouse, and BUILD. The Science Playhouse will be accessed by reservations only. New programs and exhibits include pop-up labs and demonstration areas for fun science experiments; a new pandemic-related learning kiosk in the Life Sciences exhibit; MAKE and TAKE kits will be available to bring home in place of the MAKE exhibit; and popular Da Vinci exhibit will return with exciting new elements.

The museum will include a guided path for visitors to follow that helps to condense traffic and emphasize safe-distancing while enjoying the exhibits.

We are emphasizing health and safety for guests and staff. There are ample hand sanitation stations and wipe-down stops located throughout the museum; exhibits and restrooms will be cleaned multiple times a day with enhanced sanitation protocols; and MOST staff will be wearing masks and screened daily.

"We are taking every step possible to create a safe and fun environment for our guests," said Lauren Kochian, President of the MOST. "We recognize the need for in-person learning after months of distance learning, so we are excited to introduce a new MOST with improved exhibits and increased safety protocols."

The MOST plans to fully reopen at the end of summer with resumed hours and new programs and exhibits for the fall.

As a science-based organization, we believe we are taking every measure necessary to keep our community safe and will continue to make decisions through the Onondaga County Health Department, New York State Department of Health, and CDC to ensure the ultimate safety of our visitors and staff.
