New York receives late fall snow all across the state and most ski areas are getting anywhere from 10-16 or more inches of snow. Throughout the Thanksgiving week, cold temperatures will take hold to allow for perfect snowmaking weather which will allow more terrain to be opened at ski areas in New York State.

Many ski areas around New York State are preparing to open this upcoming Thanksgiving weekend. Song Mountain in Tully NY will open on November 23rd. Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington NY is scheduled to open on Thanksgiving Day. Planning to open Friday, November 25th include Belleayre Mountain in Highmount, NY, Gore Mountain in North Creek, NY, Greek Peak Mountain Resort in Virgil NY, and Hunter Mountain in Hunter NY. On November 26th Holiday Valley in Ellicottville NY, Titus Mountain in Malone NY and Windham Mountain in Windham, NY will start their seasons. Many other ski areas around the state are preparing to open the first or second weeks of December. Instead of shopping, tune up your skis and boards Friday and go skiing or riding!
