Launching Summer Skating Season
Lake Placid, N.Y. (June 12, 2026) – The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority), in collaboration with the Skating Club of Lake Placid and sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating, will host the 69th Lake Placid Figure Skating Championships on June 25-27 at the Olympic Center.
Held at the historic Olympic Center, home of the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Winter Games, the championships continue one of the nation's longest-running summer figure skating traditions. This competitive, non-qualifying event features singles and pairs competitions across all levels, from beginner to senior, and serves as the opening event in a busy summer skating season in Lake Placid.

SPECTATOR INFORMATION
The Lake Placid Figure Skating Championships are open to the public. Spectators will have the opportunity to watch rising stars and accomplished competitors perform in one of the most iconic winter sports venues in North America. Tickets start at $8 for a one-day pass and $18 for a full-event pass.

SUMMER OF SKATING IN LAKE PLACID
The Lake Placid Figure Skating Championships kick off a summer-long celebration of figure skating at the Olympic Center. Throughout the season, Lake Placid welcomes athletes of all ages and abilities for training, competition, and performance opportunities in one of the sport's most historic venues. The Olympic Center's summer skating training sessions provide on-ice training opportunities for skaters pursuing goals ranging from recreational development to elite competition.
Upcoming skating events and programs
- Friday Night Ice Shows – July 3 through August 21
- Group Ice Skating Lessons and World Skating Arts Schools classes, providing instructional opportunities for skaters throughout the summer.
- Summer Skating Training Sessions, offering year-round access to one of the most storied training environments in figure skating.
- Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships & International – July 26-30, one of the world's oldest ice dance competitions and part of U.S. Figure Skating's National Qualifying Series and the ISU international calendar.
- Adult Skating Week – August 16-22, offering adult skaters of all skill levels the opportunity to train, learn, and connect with fellow skaters.
- Indoor Public Skating, 1932 Rink – June 30-September 5 (Tuesday-Sunday, 6:30 p.m.)
- Inline Skating on the Oval – June 30 through September 5 (Tuesday-Sunday, 7 p.m.)
