New York, NY-- Join us for a Pop Party Time Capsule of an evening filled with rare comics and creativity at the Fraunces Tavern Museum on October 13th (as in Thirteen Colonies!), as we explore the bridges that bring Pop Culture and history together.
Showcasing the current exhibit at Fraunces Tavern Museum, "Cloaked Crusader: George Washington in Comics and Pop Culture," highlighting 100 years of George Washington in comics books and popular culture, we are bringing in a few superheroes to help out!
And what a perfect time-- Right during New York Comic Con!
Guest of Honor for the evening will be another Rebel with a Cause, Lenore Zann.
Known as the voice of the ever-popular 80's Rogue as well as the new reboot of the X-Men, Lenore was also a part of the Canadian government that spearheaded important Revolutionary War-linked museums in Canada. Including one directly related to Fraunces Tavern Museum’s own exhibit on the Birch Trials, the culminating event in one of the largest emancipations prior to the American Civil War.
Lenore will be signing autographs and speaking during the event.
Joining Lenore is the co-creator of Rogue, Michael Golden as well as Marvel Zombies artist Arthur Suydam-- both of which have original art on display in the show-- among other surprise guests.
In addition, our Guest of Honor in spirit is George Washington himself!
"Cloaked Crusader: George Washington in Comics and Pop Culture," the new book by Renee Witterstaetter, will also be available for the first time anywhere on this night with Renee signing copies for those in attendance. Supplies may be limited, so order yours in advance.
Silent Auctions, sketch artists, book signings, photo ops, open bar, and hors d'oeuvres, complete the team-up!
