proctors-theatre.JPGOutstanding in the Arcade provides dinner from local chefs and producers Schenectady, N.Y. - On Sunday, March 30, Proctors and Schenectady Greenmarket host Outstanding in the Arcade, a dinner event created by local chefs and producers. Festivities begin in the Fenimore Gallery at Proctors at 3 p.m. with cocktails and hors d' oeuvres; dinner starts at 4 p.m. in the Arcade. Outstanding in the Arcade brings farm-to-table awareness by providing unique meals with international flavors cooked and prepared by local chefs and producers. This one of a kind event focuses on community by serving each meal on a long, white-clothed table down the center of the Proctors Arcade. Chefs from Café NOLA, a restaurant in Schenectady that represents New Orleans and serves a variety of Cajun specialties, will provide appetizers. Chefs' Consortium is set to prepare the hors d' oeuvres. Mazzone Hospitality, a catering company that has served the Capital District for the past 23 years, will bring entrées and desserts to the table. "The Chefs' Consortium is proud to announce its move to incorporate as a non-profit at Outstanding in the Arcade," says Executive Director Lecco Morris. "The Consortium is taking its talent and experience as chefs and community activists and building a non-profit that advocates for farmers; educates about health and eating locally; and serves as a resource for those who wish to join the local food movement." Schenectady Greenmarket is excited to co-host the event. "The market's mission is to build a strong food network in Schenectady. We are working to create authentic connections between farmers, producers and our community," says Schenectady Greenmarket Promotions Chair Jennifer Wilkerson. Tickets for Outstanding in the Arcade are $65, and are available at, the Box Office or by phone at 518-346-6204.
