Rochester, N.Y. - Fleet Feet Sports and YellowJacket Racing has partnered with The Strong, to bring the Reindeer Run 5K and Kids Race on Saturday, December 15th at 8:30AM. The event is hosted by the National Museum of Play at The Strong, starting on Pitkin and Broad St, with 90% of the course on the Inner Loop, and finishing at the museum. This first year event is a benefit for The Strong, and currently has over 1000 registrants; making it the largest first year 5K in the Rochester region. The first 1000 registrants receive reindeer antlers to wear during the event. This event also serves as the graduation race for Fleet Feet Sports' No Boundaries: Learn to Run program where 300 participants have been training for the last 3 months for this event. Event Producer, Ellen Brenner, is amazed by the how well this event has been received stating, "I think with the combination of having the course on the closed Inner Loop, the festivity of the holiday season and participants able to visit the National Museum of Play at The Strong that day for free with their bib number fosters a unique and celebratory event for years to come". "The opportunity to bring people to experience downtown Rochester and its offerings like The Strong is always a positive on our list and we are excited to be able accomplish this with the Reindeer Run". Registration information can be found at http://www.yellowjacketracing.com/ or visit either Fleet Feet Sports locations (Brighton or Greece) to register in person. Current fees are $25 and increase to $30 on race day.
