Syracuse, N.Y. (September 13, 2023) – On Saturday, October 7th and Sunday, October 8th, RetroGameCon, Upstate NY’s Video Game Expo returns to The Oncenter in downtown Syracuse for its 10-year anniversary event. RetroGameCon, the largest video game event in New York State, will once again be bringing famous voice actors, content creators, musical guests, and legends of the video game industry to downtown Syracuse for the weekend. The convention also features over 100 different exhibitors, including video game vendors, local artists and crafters, and independent game developers.
RGC has unique attractions such as a 50-table video game free play area, the largest interactive vintage computer exhibit on the East Coast, competitive esports, a pinball arcade, cosplay contest with cash prizes, tattoo artists, gaming trivia, live musical acts & much more to fill up a massive 70,000ft exhibition hall.
With the support of well-known local sponsors such as Syracuse-based TCGplayer, AmeriCU (Rome, NY) and SUNY Polytechnic Institute (Utica, NY), RGC has grown to become one of the premier fall events in CNY. It’s more than just a game con - it is a family-friendly celebration of all things geeky, nerdy, and fun, featuring interesting panel presentations, classic to modern video game tournaments, trading card game tournaments, cosplay, tabletop games, music, art and much more!
The featured charity for RetroGameCon is Extra Life, an organization which helps heal sick kids locally at the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse. RetroGameCon raises money for this charity in a variety of ways, including through 100%-charity raffles and an auction. RGC will also feature a fundraiser at the con for The Trevor Project, a charity aimed at suicide prevention and providing counseling services to LGBTQ teens.
Thousands of attendees from all over the U.S. and Canada will make the trip to the Oncenter for this epic celebration of gaming on October 7-8. Pre-sale tickets are $35 for a weekend pass (or $40 at the door). Day passes, family passes, and VIP passes are also available.
RetroGameCon 2023’s hours are Saturday 10AM-7PM and Sunday 10AM-5PM.
