Haley is a retired news editor and has written hundreds of local history columns that have been published in the Sunday edition of the Rome Daily Sentinel newspaper. She has also written local history columns as a volunteer for the Rome Historical Society.  The society is the source for many of her columns, along with old newspaper clippings, personal interviews, and online resources. She has compiled two books, Rome Through Our History, Volume I and II, based on these columns.

Both Volume I and Volume II will be for sale at this program. Both books may also be purchased at the Rome Historical Society, 200 Church St. in Rome.  A portion of the proceeds from book sales goes to support the Rome Historical Society.
