Six Flags Donates PonchosPonchos Provide a Protective Barrier for Health Care Workers and Patients

Darien Center, N.Y. (April 8, 2020) — Six Flags Darien Lake announced today that it donated 500 rain ponchos to NY State Veterans’ Home in Batavia. The facility’s skilled nursing staff will use the ponchos to protect themselves and patients as they continue to provide care to local veterans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Everyone is feeling the effects of COVID-19 and we at Six Flags Darien Lake want to do our part to help ensure members of our community are safe and healthy,” said Park President Chris Thorpe. “Being able to assist the hard-working men and women who are on the front lines caring for veterans is an honor and a privilege.”

The New York State Veterans’ Home in Batavia is a skilled nursing facility owned and operated by the New York State Department of Health for veterans and their dependents.
