 Complimentary Tickets to The Philadelphia Orchestra on AUGUST 12, featuring the SPAC premiere of Seven O’Clock Shout, composed as a tribute to frontline workers during the pandemic

 Saratoga Springs, NY (July 22, 2021) – Saratoga Performing Arts Center announces that it will celebrate healthcare workers and first responders with two special events. On Friday, July 23, SPAC will welcome more than 2,000 healthcare workers and first responders to its grounds for a complimentary film screening of “Secretariat,” along with free ice cream from Stewart’s Shops and a fireworks display to close out the evening. Participating organizations include Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital, The Wesley Community, Ellis Medicine, St. Peter’s Health Partners, AIM Services, Saratoga Bridges, and Center for Disability Services, among others.

Additionally, SPAC will donate tickets to healthcare workers and first responders to experience The Philadelphia Orchestra’s program Coleman, Bach & Brahms on August 12, featuring the SPAC premiere of Seven O’Clock Shout, composed as a tribute to frontline workers during the pandemic by American composer Valerie Coleman. According to Coleman, “To me, Seven O’Clock Shout is a declaration of our survival. It is something that allows us our agency to take back the kindness that is in our hearts and the emotions that cause us such turmoil. … We cheer on the essential workers with a primal and fierce urgency to let them know that we stand with them and each other.”

“Bringing these programs at no cost to thousands of healthcare workers is just one small way of expressing our tremendous gratitude for their tireless work and sacrifice during the pandemic,” says Elizabeth Sobol, president and CEO of SPAC.

Film Screening of “Secretariat” for Healthcare Workers

 SPAC celebrates healthcare workers and first responders with a complimentary film screening of “Secretariat” on Friday, July 23. The evening will begin with complimentary Stewart's Shops Ice Cream for attendees before the movie begins and conclude with a fireworks display. This special evening is made possible by CDPHP, NYRA, Gateway Dermatology and Stewart's Shops

The Philadelphia Orchestra Pays Tribute to Healthcare Workers

THURSDAY, AUGUST 12 @ 8PM

SPAC will donate tickets for this special program dedicated to healthcare workers. The evening opens with the SPAC premiere of Seven O’Clock Shout, composed as a tribute to frontline workers during the pandemic by American composer Valerie Coleman. Performance Today's 2020 Classical Woman of the Year and one of the Washington Post’s "Top 35 Female Composers in Classical Music," Valerie Coleman is among the world's most performed composers living today.

The evening continues with Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins with Concertmaster David Kim and First Associate Concertmaster Juliette Kang and Brahms’s lyrically lush, Symphony No. 1.
