Online registration is available at All proceeds will benefit SPAC's Vivienne Anderson program which hosts underserved children at classical performances.

"Our ‘Rock & Run' is the perfect, high-energy kick off to our season and a wonderful way to support opportunities for local children to experience the performing arts," said Marcia J. White, SPAC's President & Executive Director. "Since we first introduced the ‘Rock & Run' 5K in 2010, it has become a favorite among local runners, families and the community. The addition of the 10K race and the increase in participating bands in recent years have raised the volume on this fantastic event. Tremendous thanks are owed to our Action Council members, whose creativity, time and effort are at the core of this exciting event's success."

The headlining artist for the post-race festivities will be Jocelyn Arndt, a returning favorite at the "Rock & Run" who recently released her debut album, Strangers in Fairyland.
Co-writing with brother and guitarist Chris Arndt, the duo and their band combine an imploring style with elements of blues, indie-rock, and jazz. The intimacy of Jocelyn's voice and Chris's retro-inflected guitar work combine to give their music its distinctive sound. Other acclaimed regional bands participating in the event include:

§  The WonderBeards - With a sound perhaps best described as "hard folk," this Glens Falls, NY-based duo has become an area favorite throughout the Northeast, featuring Chris Ristau on vocals and guitar and multi-instrumentalist Tom Miles on drums, percussion, banjo, ukulele, uke bass,
and harmonica.

§  CRUSH - Winners of the 2012 SPAC Battle of the Bands, CRUSH is comprised of current students from Schalmont Middle and High Schools, performing originals and covers of popular hits at talent shows, community fundraising events, and private parties across the Capital Region.

§  Let's Be Leonard - The Saratoga Springs-based, five-piece rock-and-roll band has performed throughout the greater Capital Region since its members met at college in Albany in 2013, exploring a multitude of different genres and influences in a high-energy setting.

New bands joining the race this year include Accents, The Long Bow Trio, The Further Unsound, Owls in Orbit, Warren Sieme, Birds of the Northeast, 2LATE, School of Rock, and ERIN POWERS AKA EP.

Back by popular demand will be Drew Jacobs, Pony in the Pancake, Two Guys, Cosby Gibson & Tom Staudle, Bryan Thomas, Rob Jonas, and Beaked Whale.

Other features of the "Rock & Run" include performance/moisture-wicking shirts for the first 1,200 pre-registered 5K and 10K runners, tickets to SPAC's Wine & Food and Fall Ferrari Festival for the top male/female finishers, tickets to SPAC classical performances for the top male and female finishers in each age category, finisher awards for all children participating in the Kids' Race, and a free post-race party with live music, refreshments, and children's activities.

About SPAC's Vivienne Anderson Program

Proceeds from the "Rock & Run" benefit SPAC's Vivienne Anderson Children's Program, a special program which hosts underserved area youth at select matinee performances of the NYCB. The children visit the National Museum of Dance, meet with dancers from the company, and learn about a dancer's life. They view the performance after having been introduced to the story line, choreographer, and composer. It is the goal of the program that experiencing the arts in such a meaningful way, often for their first time, will help these children foster a lifelong love of the arts. The program is named for former Action Council President Vivienne Anderson, who was a tireless advocate for children's
