Rochester, N.Y. - Summer at The Strong museum has
never been more playful! Enjoy themed arts and crafts, music and dance, computer games and books, and imaginative play each weekday, Monday through Friday, from July 14 to August 22. Be on the lookout for special guests, interactive storytelling, and celebratory surprises. The summer schedule follows:

July 14-18: Pirate Week. Discover an ocean of adventures as you learn to talk like a pirate, walk the plank, collect treasure, create a sea captain's hat, and more. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., meet a pirate and collect a coin from the treasure chest.

Drop off a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the Pirate Toy Fund to help local children in need.

July 21-25: Nature Week. Explore the museum's outdoor Discovery Garden to complete a scavenger hunt, view an award-winning display of one-of-a-kind fairy houses, make an insect craft, try on a pair of butterfly wings, and more. For five days only, purchase buy-one-get-one free tickets to
the Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden with regular, general museum admission Monday through Friday. (Due to limited capacity, entry to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden is by timed ticket only.)

July 28-August 1: Get Moving Week. From 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m., join the Get Moving party featuring hopscotch, hula hooping, and parachute games. All day long, try out yoga for kids, show off your dance moves, see how fast you can stack cups, and more. Receive a free copy of the
book Dora's Big Buddy Race (one per family) at the museum library desk while supplies last. On Monday, July 28 from 11 a.m. to noon, meet a player from the Rochester Red
and mascot Spikes. On Tuesday, July 29 at 3 p.m., enjoy a performance by dancers and musicians from the American Travelling Morrice dancing company.

August 4-8: Detective Week. Be a super sleuth, investigate a crime scene, and try to find the culprit. Make a disguise, see if you can crack a code, and test your brain power with tangrams and mind games.

and take pictures with the Berenstain Bears from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., make bear ears, join a Bear Country picnic and tea party, and more.
