Summer at the National Museum of Play at The Strong is filled with family fun: Tuesday, July 5–Monday, September 5: Summer of Furry Friends and Farewell Parades. Celebrate the Berenstain Bears (who turn 50 next year!) all summer long. Meet a Berenstain Bear daily from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 1–4 p.m. Sundays. And don’t miss the Farewell Parades, a festive musical march throughout the museum galleries at the end of each day. This guest favorite is a rousing way to conclude a visit! Tuesdays, July 5, July 19, August 2, & August 16, 1–2 p.m.: Speak Japanese. Learn to say basic phrases such as “hello” and “goodbye,” count to 10, and learn to say your name in Japanese. The lessons complement the new Five Friends from Japan: Children in Japan Today exhibit, which opens at the museum June 18 and remains on view through September 11. The exhibit invites guests to experience everyday Japanese life and culture through the eyes of five contemporary Japanese children. Tuesday, July 12, 2–4 p.m.: Rochester Rhinos Meet and Greet. Meet members of the Rochester Rhinos soccer team. Players will be available for autographs and photographs.  Tuesdays, July 19 & Monday August 15, 1–2 p.m.: Rochester Red Wings Meet and Greets. Meet members of the Rochester Red Wings baseball team—including mascot Spikes.
