Lake George, N.Y. – How would you create imagery or writing that expresses your interpretation of the word “dream?” That is the theme of the 38th annual Talent Unlimited Literary Arts Journal. Students in grades 7 – 12 were inspired by this theme to create thoughtful and imaginative paintings, drawings, photographs, mixed media, and graphic design pieces and to write compelling essays, poems and stories. They bravely submitted their best work to be considered for publication. The art and writing, 50 pieces in each category, were chosen by juries of professional artists and writers. The exhibition in the Courthouse Gallery will feature over 40 original works of art accepted for publication.
The Talent Unlimited Literary Arts Journal is published annually by the Enrichment Resource Center at the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES. It provides young artists and writers with the opportunity to have their art seen and their writing read while participating in a selection process that mirrors the professional worlds of art and publishing.
The public is invited to celebrate young artists' imaginative and creative work at the artists’ reception on Saturday, June 10th, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Light refreshments will be available. Student art from the WSWHE BOCES Talent Unlimited Literary Arts Journal will be on display in the Courthouse Gallery from June 10 through June 20.
On Sunday, June 11th, visit the gallery between 1:00 and 2:00 PM for the first Sunday Arts event of the summer. This new program, offered during exhibitions and on select holiday Sundays, invites visitors of all ages to see exhibitions with a curator and provides opportunities to make art inspired by the shows.
The Courthouse Gallery is located at the side entrance of the Old County Courthouse Building, located on the corner of Canada and Lower Amherst Streets in Lake George, NY.
Gallery hours during scheduled exhibition dates are Wed through
