All the members of The National Dance Company of Ireland have been performing since they were young children and they truly represent the new Ireland-the 21st Century Irish lads and lassies of today. Touring with Rhythm of the Dance is a dream come true for each of them; performing for millions of people, tapping and stomping out the beats of a thousand years of Gaelic history.
Along with the powerful and moving songs of celebration and hope performed by The Young Irish Tenors (soon to have their own American Public Television special), all the music in the show, as well as is played live on stage by the Rhythm of the Dancemusicians, utilizing rare and haunting instruments like the Celtic bouzouki; the cittern; the octave mandolin; the melodeon (Irish accordion), tea whistle and pennywhistle flutes; various hand drums; and century-old harps, banjos, fiddles, guitars.
