SLATER will be open for Mother’s Day – Moms tour for free!

Albany, NY – USS SLATER will host free demonstrations on Morse Code and Semaphore communications Saturday 8 May and Sunday 9 May 2021. The demonstrations will be held at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM on SLATER’s observation deck. All are welcome to join in the demonstrations!

Celebrate Mom and take her on a tour of a World War II warship! Moms tour for free on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 9th.  

Admission is charged for tours of USS SLATER. Adults: $9.00, Seniors: $8.00, Children: $7.00, and children under 5 years old are admitted for free.

USS SLATER, the last Destroyer Escort afloat in America, is open to the public for her 24th season in Albany. Guided tours start every 30 minutes. No reservations are required. For the safety of our staff, volunteers, and visitors, USS SLATER is adhering to safety guidelines set by the governor’s recommendations concerning COVID-19. Everyone will be required wear a mask while aboard SLATER. Tour groups will be kept small, and the ship will be disinfected regularly.

USS SLATER is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 4 PM, through Sunday 28 November 2021. The ship is located in Downtown Albany at the intersection of Broadway and Quay Street.  

USS SLATER is owned, maintained, and operated by the Destroyer Escort Historical Museum, a private, non-profit, charitable organization that receives no regular government support.
