ALBANY, N.Y. -- Tickets are on sale for the 13th Annual Irish 2000 Music and Arts Festival, taking place on Sept. 18 and Sept. 19 at a new location -- the Saratoga County Fairgrounds in Ballston Spa. With more than 30 performers, the festival features contemporary, traditional and local Celtic music with a great line up including The Prodigals, Street Dogs, the Gobshites, Eileen Ivers and Immigrant Soul, Gaelic Storm, Black 47, The McKrells and Hair of the Dog. New, early bird ticket rates are in effect this year, "Reflecting the lowest price we've ever offered for those attending the event both days," said Irish 2000 President Matt Nelligan. The two-day ticket price is $20 through Aug. 19. After that date, the price goes up $5. Children ages 12 and under are free and no ticket is required. Tickets for Friday only are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Tickets for Saturday only are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. After Aug. 19, two-day passes are $25 through Sept. 17. Advance-sale tickets are now available online at www.irish2000fest.com and through the mail to Irish 2000 Festival, P.O. Box 415, Latham, NY 12110. Irish 2000 has partnered with Price Chopper Supermarkets' Tickets to Go program, allowing festival goers to purchase advance tickets at any open register, starting on July 5. "For even more savings, Price Chopper is offering additional $1 off each ticket purchased at their stores with their AdvantEdge Card. Tickets are printed at the register," Mr. Nelligan said. The festival opens on Friday at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Special Saturday features include The Schenectady Pipe Band, performances by the Farrell, Boland and Campbell schools of Irish Dance. The Celtic Kids area has rides and games and special guests including storyteller Barbara McCarthy, Bon Bon the Clown and magician Domino the Great.
