Garner Arts Festival, Garnerville
The Garner Arts Festival is celebrating its 15th anniversary May 19- 20. The arts center, housed in a former textile mill, will feature 14 acres of exhibitions, performances and art installations. Visitors can also participate in art workshops, drop in to artist studios, and purchase local crafts and food. Admission is $8 per adult, $6 for seniors and veterans, and free for anyone under the age of 14.
Nyack Street Fairs, Nyack
These popular, and free, event attracts more than 25,000 people each season. On Street Fair days, Main Street comes alive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with 350 exhibitors from five states. You’ll find arts and crafts vendors, specialty food and beverages, home décor and collectibles, and a kids’ play zone. Nyack’s restaurants and outdoor cafes offer “Fair Specials.” Rain or shine. Fair dates for 2018 are: May 20, July 8, September 9, and October 7.
5th Annual Rockland-Bergen Music Festival, Tappan
On June 22-24, 20 rock and folk artists perform on two stages at the German Masonic Park in Tappan from 11AM through nightfall. Artists include Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Steve Forbert, Jeffrey Gaines, Joe Grushecky, Joe D'Urso & Stone Caravan. Since 2014, this event has benefitted multiple charities like Habitat for Humanity, People to People, and Meals on Wheels. Food and beverage options include craft beers and vegetarian meals.
5th Annual Haverstraw RiverArts & Music Festival, Haverstraw
On September 15, Haverstraw RiverArts brings back a full day of music and art, set against the backdrop of the Hudson River in Emeline Park. The day’s activities include live music, art gallery, interactive art event, storytellers, children’s crafts, food and a beer garden.
Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, Countywide
If you enjoy a great meal, make plans now for the Fall 2018 Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. During this two-week dining event, October 29-November 11, local chefs at restaurants throughout Rockland County and beyond offer their best dishes at a prix fixe, with at least three choices. No passes or tickets are needed. However, reservations are suggested and may be required by some restaurants.
