Lewis County, N.Y. – There’s nothing like fresh air and hard work to get us all feeling better! You’re invited to social distance and wear your face mask as you join our Volunteer Trail Work Day on the Tug Hill Traverse Trail in the heart of Tug Hill on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
We will need to work in a group of no more than ten people in one section of the trail. In order to anticipate numbers and organize efficiently, registration is required. Please contact us by phone at 315-779-8240, by email at lgibbs@tughilltomorrow.org, or online at www.tughilltomorrowlandtrust.org. Once registered, you will receive additional information, such as driving directions and meeting location information.
The Traverse Trail is located within the East Branch of Fish Creek State Forest lands in Lewis County towns of Montague, Martinsburg, Osceola and West Turin. We will start with maintenance of the completed three-mile section running between Michigan Mills Road and the G&W Road (Glenfield and Western Railroad Bed).
Volunteers should wear sturdy footwear, dress for the weather, and bring water, snacks/lunch, work gloves, face mask, insect repellant, sunscreen or hat, and tools if available, such as a hand saw, lopping shears, and/or trimming shears.
