Wants to hear from seasonal residents who have returned to the County
Warren County, N.Y. – Warren County officials are respectfully and strongly requesting that all property owners, including second home owners, remove any short-term rental listings from Airbnb, Vrbo and similar services as soon as possible.
Additionally, Warren County wants to touch base with any seasonal residents who may have come back to their homes in the county from the New York City area in recent weeks during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
Warren County Public Health Director Ginelle Jones asks that those who have come from the New York City metro area, where COVID cases have been far more prevalent, to follow recent federal guidance and self-isolate for at least 14 days after leaving the metro area. That includes New Jersey, Westchester and Rockland counties and Long Island.
The same request is also made of those who have come to the county from the New York City area to rent Airbnb or other short-term rentals during the outbreak, as reports are many of these rentals have been booked in recent days.
Jones said her staff can help educate those who have recently arrived as to the local outbreak protocols.
"We would like to touch base with them to provide them information about our local situation and give them information about resources," Jones said.
Those resources can include assistance in meeting needs during isolation.
The Public Health Department can be reached at 518-761-6580. An answering service is available after hours, and on-call Public Health Supervisors can be contacted.
