As a special cure for cabin fever, create your own take-home craft – an 18th century whirligig! - free with Museum admission.

While you are here, take a guided tour of the historic Hasbrouck family farmhouse used by General and Mrs. Washington, several of his aides, guards, and free and enslaved servants during the last 16 ½ months of the Revolutionary War, the longest stay at any of his Revolutionary War headquarters. Walk in the same rooms as the General did in the house where he announced the cease fire, rejected a monarchy, and created the Badge of Military Merit, precursor to the Purple Heart, and much more!

Make sure you explore the Museum which houses such exhibits as Unpacked & Rediscovered: Selections from Washington’s Headquarters’ Collection, George Washington: Perspectives on His Life and Legacy, The Preservation of Washington's Headquarters, and the Junior Curator Project 2020.

Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site is a registered National Historic Landmark.
