Discover the beautiful and historic Champlain Valley and the magnificence of the Adirondack High Peaks. Start at Fort Ticonderoga in Ticonderoga and learn about colonial history. Take a ride up to nearby Mount Defiance for a bird's-eye view of Lake Champlain and miles of beautiful scenery.

Continue on Rte 9N and Route 73 to the mountain village of Lake Placid. Take an elevator ride to the top of the 90-meter Olympic Ski Jump for a view of the Olympic Training Facilities and the surrounding mountains.

Begin with a visit to the Olympic Museum in Lake Placid. Explore the legacy of the 1932 and 1980 Lake Placid Winter Games through exhibits that include video highlights, athletes' uniforms and equipment, and historical information about all of the area's Olympic sites.
Venture deeper into the Adirondacks on a ride from Lake Placid to Saranac Lake on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad. Take in the fresh air and foliage
in an open train car, travel through remote forests, past sparkling rivers, over bridges, tranquil ponds and streams. Ride a gondola to the top of Little Whiteface Mountain for a terrific view of the High Peaks.
