Start with breakfast at a local café along Whitehall's Hudson River Harbor, birthplace of the United States Navy. Step back in time at the Skenesborough Museum and take in a breathtaking view at Skene Manor, a gothic-style castle in the Village of Whitehall.  

Head south on Rte 4, then south on Rte 22 to Granville, Salem, Greenwich and Cambridge. In Granville, visit The Slate Valley Museum and the Pember Museum of Natural HistoryThe Salem Artworks is a 220-acre sculpture compound located in Salem.  

Twelve miles south on Rte 22 is the town of Cambridge where a stop at Mt. Nebo Gallery, Will Moses Gallery and the former home of Grandma Moses is a must for folk art enthusiasts. You will pass the historic Rexleigh and Eagleville Covered Bridges and the Rice Seed Covered Foot Bridge along the way.

In Washington Country's Village of Greenwich, stop at Mowry Park to learn about the significance the Village played in the Underground Railroad.

Take Rte 22 south to Rte 67 west to Liberty Ridge Farm in Schaghticoke, home of the region's largest corn maze and family fun farm. Ride a trolley, pick some pumpkins and enjoy a whole barnyard of activities.

Head south on Rte 40 or Rte 4 into Troy, a.k.a. the "Home of Uncle Sam." Dine at one of Troy's many downtown restaurants including the Dinosaur BBQ (518/308-0400) or Shalimar (518/273-8744), noted for its Indian cuisine.
