World-class skiing and snowboarding are always nearby, from the scenic Adirondacks slopes at Whiteface Mountain and Gore Mountain to Catskills favorites such as Hunter Mountain and Windham. Just learning your way around the slopes? Resorts such as Holiday Valley and Peak 'n Peak in Chautauqua-Allegheny offer lessons to help make you feel more comfortable. Learn about adaptive skiing for all abilities in New York.

Ski resorts are subject to COVID-19 restrictions and capacity limits that may require advance reservations for the 2020-21 season, especially on weekends. Consider skiing or snowboarding during the week if your schedule permits, or try skiing or snowboarding at night where available. Visit I Ski New York for important messages about planning ahead and what to expect when you hit the slopes, and call ahead and check websites and social media to make sure attractions and amenities are open and available. Remember to keep six feet apart from others not in your party and wear a mask or face covering except when riding downhill or eating and drinking. Be advised that New York has a travel advisory in effect, which requires travelers from non-contiguous states to quarantine for 10 days upon entering New York State. Travelers may undergo COVID testing to test out. For more details, see the guidelines for the travel advisory here
