New York City

Summer sizzles in New York City!

Entertainment, the arts, museums, major-league baseball, shopping, festivals, foodie tours--whatever your interest, you’ll find the best of everything here.

From classic Broadway shows to fun festivals at Brooklyn Bridge Park and the wild and woolly Bronx Zoo, the Big Apple has something for everyone!  Check out iconic attractions and cutting-edge performances throughout the five boroughs. Explore summer events at famous Manhattan landmarks like Lincoln Center, the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. Take in free outdoor concerts across the city, from Governors Island to summer evenings at the Metropolitan Opera.

Catch the South Street Seaport’s 9th annual Seaport Music Festival, a great series of free music on Pier 17, from June 22 to July 14. Shakespeare in the Park, one of New York City's most beloved summer traditions, presents the 50th Anniversary summer season of free performances at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.  Another favorite tradition, Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, lights up the sky over New York Harbor.

Take in a cool concert at the Bowery Ballroom or visit Coney Island’s New York Aquarium. Catch a baseball game at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx or Citi Field, the Mets’ home in Queens. See the world’s best players at the US Open Tennis Championship, August 27 to September 9 in Queens. The Electric Zoo, an electronic music festival at Randall's Island Park from August 31 to September 2, is a high-energy celebration featuring some of the genre’s biggest names.

Along with palatial museums like The Met and the American Museum of Natural History, there are hundreds of art galleries in neighborhoods from Chelsea to Williamsburg. Shopping options range from designer flagships like Barneys on Madison Avenue to the Brooklyn Flea, an outdoor marketplace where hundreds of vendors sell everything from antiques to organic produce.

Don’t miss the great food! From fine dining, to fresh NYC Greenmarkets, to Full Moon Farm Dinners at Historic Richmond Town on Staten Island, summer is a peak season for NYC dining.

While you’re in the area, plan to visit Long Island, the Hudson Valley or The Catskills, all within a short drive or train trip from New York City!
