Now through Nov. 4, Amtrak's vintage "Great Dome" car is in upstate New York for the fall foliage season. The car gives riders sweeping vistas of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks and features an upper level with windows on all sides that provide panoramic views of the colorful foliage between Albany and Montreal. The dome car operates northbound from Albany to Montreal on Thursdays, Saturdays and Mondays and returns south from Montreal on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays.
