Details

The Schuyler County Historical Society continues Celebratin' America 250!, with their Talkin' History 250! series on August 9, 2026. "Women & the Revolution" will be presented by Executive Director Heather O'Grady-Evans. Women often play a vital role during wartime, and the American Revolution is no different, despite those efforts often being marginalized, overlooked, dismissed and even ignored. This talk will examine the research and evidence of the past 45+ years into the roles women had in the 18th century, how those roles changed during the American Revolution, who some of the key players were, and how a patriotic revitalization of the late 19th century brought about the DAR. The talk will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Silver Spoon Cafe located in the Schuyler County Human Services Complex on Owego Street in Montour Falls. As always, our Talkin' History series is FREE and open to the general public. Anyone and everyone is welcome! Be sure to bring a friend!
