Catskills

Find beauty and adventure in the great outdoors.

Artists, writers and naturalists draw inspiration from its tranquil forests, explorers and families find magic on its high peaks--this is the Catskills, your mountain getaway and next adventure.

Take an open-air ride on the Catskill Mountain Railroad or walk the Hudson River School Art Trail to see Thomas Cole's 19th-century paintings. Whether you bike along miles of mountain trails in the Catskill Preserve, swim in the sparkling lakes and hike to new heights on the mountain peaks, you're in for an outdoor adventure.

Drive along the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway to dramatic vistas and quaint villages. Along the way, stop at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center to learn fly-tying or drop a line in legendary Willowemoc Creek. Tibetan pray flags lead up the winding mountain road to KTD Monastery in Woodstock, welcoming visitors to tour the shrine, art collection, and grounds. Top stars perform all summer at Belleayre Mountain's Music Festival and the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts where a museum takes you back in time to the art and music of the 1960s. Events at Hunter Mountain include the Trailblazer Festival, formerly known as Taste of Country, headlined by Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett, and Luke Bryan in June. And don't forget to check out Hunter Mountain's New York Zipline Adventure Tour--it's the longest and highest in North America!

Windham Mountain Resort's Bike Park has miles of trails served by a high-speed quad lift. And you'll find loads of family fun at Zoom Flume Water Park where you can cool off in a beautiful mountain setting. For excitement, Monticello Casino & Raceway features a huge gaming floor, entertainment, and thrilling harness racing!
