Path Through History

Where You Can Explore New York's Rich Heritage

Experience a Revolutionary War battle, discover some of our state's and nation's greatest natural wonders or relive some of sports' greatest moments. From U.S. presidents to leaders of the suffrage movement to innovators in industry, technology, and art, it all happened in New York State. You can visit over 700 destinations across our great state. Choose from themes to create your own Path Through History for an experience you and your family will always remember. 

Get ready to explore events across the state focusing on the revolutionary actions of New Yorkers as our nation commemorates the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States in 2026 and learn even more about the people and places that shaped American history during Path Through History Weekends, happening June 14-15 and October 11-13 in 2025.

For information on becoming an official Path Through History site, click here. Historical attractions and sites in New York State can submit Path Through History events and 250 Commemoration events.
