Olympic Center and Museum

FEATURED
Details

An official Path Through History Site! The Lake Placid Olympic Museum brings to life the Olympic memories and achievements from 1932 and 1980, including the American hockey team's "Miracle on Ice" over the Soviets, and Sonja Henie's and Eric Heiden's skates to Olympic Gold. Visitors can see historic video highlights, equipment, uniforms, and memorabilia from the Olympic Games, as well as experience the competition venues, like the outdoor skating oval. Skating and speed-skating on the Olympic Oval is a tradition for locals and visitors alike. Bring your own skates or rent on site. Get cozy and warm around the fire pit in the center of the Speed Skating Oval, one of the few outdoor rinks of its kind left in the country. Ice skating on the Speed Skating Oval is weather dependent.
