Appalachian Trail - The Harlem Valley AT Community

Details

Sixteen miles of the National Appalachian Scenic Trail passes through Dover and Pawling, in southeastern Dutchess, and includes 4,000 acres of protected parkland with hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, and five overnight use areas.

Location: Look for trail crossing signs with triangle at State Rt. 52, 4 mi. east of Taconic Parkway, parking on north side of road; State Rt. 55, west of Pawling, 1.5 mi east of State Rt. 216 intersection, parking 0.1 mi. west of trail crossing; State Rt 22, north of Pawling, between County Rt. 68 and DOT parking area, north of Rt. 68. The Trail enters the Pawling Nature Reserve and continues into Wingdale, a hamlet of Dover, crossing Leather Hill & Duell Hollow Roads. The Trail returns to State Rt 55, just east of the CT border. 

The Harlem Valley AT Community (Dover and Pawling) has its HQ at Native Landscapes at the AT Crossing on Rt. 22.
