The Apple Barrel Orchards has been in existence since the mid-1960s. This farm, now home to the Apple Barrel, has been in the Wager family for three generations. In 1940, Forest and Olive Wager raised cows and chickens and grew apples, grapes, cherries, black raspberries, and peaches on the land. Bernie and Roxanne took over the farm in 1991, with a focus on growing the best apples and grapes for fresh fruit, juice, and wine markets. The Wager's strive to keep up with the ever-changing trends of growing new varieties on smaller trees. While visiting the farm, you will notice new orchards have been planted to replace the trees that have been around since the 1940s.
