Bardavon 1869 Opera House

Details

The oldest continuously operating theater in New York State, and one of the oldest in the entire country. Today, it is a premier Hudson Valley destination. James Collingwood’s generous public spirit lives on as the Bardavon continues to delight the community with its proud history, breathtaking architecture, and outstanding programming for all to enjoy. Thanks to the thoughtful generosity of longtime members Julia and Albert Rosenblatt and Rita and Morton Alterman, patrons with hearing loss can now experience performances, including the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, Met Live in HD and more, to their fullest.

Winner of the Accessibility Hospitality Award of Distinction in the 2023 Dutchess Tourism Awards of Distinction competition.
