BIG aLICe Brewing Co. comes to the Finger Lakes as its 3rd location in New York State. Big aLICe began production in January 2013 in Queens with a 10-gallon pilot system featuring bottled flavor-forward, one-off batches. On May 1st 2021 Big aLICe opened in Geneva as a brewery housing a 15bbl brewhouse, taproom and amazing grounds on Rt. 14 just south of Geneva. The name of the Brewing Company is from its Queens location, where the skyline is marked by the four Ravenswood, red and white generator stacks. The largest of these generators was built by the Milwaukee-based company, Allis-Chalmers. In 1963 they operated the world’s largest generator producing enough units to serve 3,000,000 people. Acknowledging the large population it served at the time, the Queens community nicknamed the generator ‘Big Allis’. The name honors this Queens landmark and connects us with the history and growth of our borough, and immediate neighborhood of Long Island City. Big aLICe in Geneva is noted for it's casual, country atmosphere with fields surrounding - and of course its award winning brews.
