Camillus Erie Canal Park/Sims Store Museum

Details

Just west of the city, the Sims Store Museum is a replica of an 1860's canal-side store. A beautifully wooded 400-acre park includes a restored section of the canal, nine miles of trails and two picnic areas. The Camillus Erie Canal Park is home to the only restored navigable aqueduct in New York State. The park is also home to the Steam Engine project, showcasing a 450-horsepower engine that generated electricity for the L.C. Smith Typewriter Co. Boat tours by appointment May through October.
