1850-acre preserve, a part of the Adirondack Forest Preserve and maintained by The Lake George Land Conservancy. The trails to the summits of Cat and Thomas provide a rewarding introduction to hiking the Adirondack trails.The orange trail 1.5-miles along an old logging road winds 716-feet up Thomas Mountain to 180-degree views and a cabin. The wooded route is a challenging and longer trek, via the blue trail ~ Richard Hayes Phillips Trail and runs 2.3-miles from the cabin to the summit of Cat Mountain at 1,956-feet. The yellow trail is 2.2-miles to Cat Mountain follows along an old logging road. The summit of Cat takes in 270-degree views of Lake George and Adirondack Mountains. The red trail, the newest and most challenging trail, which drops steeply from the summit of Cat. 0.4-miles, levels off for 0.25-miles, descends again gradually for 0.35-miles to Edgecomb Pond and the trail to The Pinnacle.
