State owned and maintained. Comprised of 300,000 acres of forests with meadows, lakes, springs, waterfalls, cliffs, fire towers and wildlife. Today, it served as a watershed, recreational area and an ecological and scenic reserve. The Catskill Preserve is comprised of seven different mountainous areas.
