Central Park Conservancy—Official Central Park Tours

Aside from presiding over one of the world’s most-famous parks, comprising over 136 acres of woodland, 250 acres of lawns and 150 acres of bodies of water—all entirely manmade—the Central Park Conservancy also coordinates numerous events including indoor climbing classes at the North Meadow Recreation Center, craft classes for tots at the Chess & Checkers House, winter stargazing with the Amateur Astronomers Association of New York, The Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park and the Orchestral Concerts at the Naumberg Bandshell—just to name a few. The Conservancy maintains four park visitor centers (The Dairy Visitor Center and Gift Shop, Chess & Checkers House, Belvedere Castle and Charles A. Dana Discovery Center) where you can find out what's happening in the park.
