Constable Hall

Details

An official Path Through History Site! Built by William Constable Jr. between 1810 and 1819 and occupied by the several generations of the Constable family until 1948, Constable Hall is a remarkable time capsule that provides an extraordinary window into the world of this prominent family. The Constables came from Ireland to New York during the colonial period and later became successful importers and exporters, land speculators, and inventors. The house remains remarkably intact and retains much of its original furnishings, including the family library.
