An official Path Through History Site! The Edward Hopper House is the birthplace and childhood home of iconic American artist Edward Hopper (1882-1967). Since 1971, the Edward Hopper House has operated as a non-profit museum and art center with a mission to celebrate Edward Hopper’s legacy by preserving his family home and archive while serving as a resource for scholars and artists and nurturing community engagement with the arts.The ground floor of the Edward Hopper House is a vibrant gallery space featuring exhibitions of 20th century and contemporary art, with early Hopper work, memorabilia and rotating exhibits relating to Edward Hopper. Workshops, lectures, docent tours, concerts, and special events take place throughout the year. Books, posters, note cards, and postcards of Hopper’s work are available for purchase in the museum gift shop.
