Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site

Details

The only National Historic Site dedicated to a first lady of the United States, "Val-Kill", was the home of Eleanor Roosevelt from 1945-1962. Includes ER memorial garden, grounds and hiking trails. There is public transportation from the Poughkeepsie train station to Historic Hyde Park. On Sundays and holidays when public transit is not running, visitors can take the Roosevelt Ride shuttle.
