An official Path Through History Site! The 1750 fortified home of fur trader Johannes Klock is a Colonial settlement of the French and Indian period. In 1780, an encounter between Albany County militia and a British-supported expedition of Indians and Loyalists came to be known as the Battle of Klock`s Field. Despite significant losses, the Loyalists continued to raid the Mohawk Valley. The Fort Klock Historic Restoration is a National Historic Landmark, which includes a 1790s Dutch barn, blacksmith shop, and an 1825 schoolhouse.
