Foster Memorial AME Zion Church

In Tarrytown, the Foster Memorial AME Zion Church, founded in 1860, provided food and shelter to escaped slaves on their way to Canada along the Underground Railroad, many of whom settled in Tarrytown. The church is still a focal point for the black community.
